Outback Outloud, Series 2 interview and workshops

Outback Arts, in partnership with Signal Creative, is coming to Warren, Coonamble and Nyngan between 16th and 28th May, to deliver the project "Outback Outloud" series 2. You can listen to the first series of Outback Outloud produced last year here featuring Walgett, Brewarrina, Cobar and Bourke.

Outback Outloud will be facilitated by Signal Creative Director, Emma Hoy a professional audio engineer with over 25 years of experience working in studios here in Australia, New York and LA with help from Dr Mary Anne Jebb, a historian and published author who works recording oral histories for the National Library of Australia.

Story booth
Come along to take part in the story booth service where people can come and tell their stories. The recordings made in these sessions will be used to produce the podcast episodes featuring stories and yarns from your community. These recordings will also be accessible by the speaker via a community archive.

Workshop
Participants will learn valuable interviewing techniques and how to use their smartphones to record audio. This training will enable people to collect stories from their families, friends and community members in the future for their own oral history records.
