Outback Outloud- call for local champions

Outback Outloud is an audio storytelling project involving workshops and a community story booth designed to collect stories from and about people in remote NSW, Outback Arts region. Outback Outloud encourages full community participation and accessible events where people share their stories.

This project will have two main components;

  • WORKSHOPS - participants will learn to interview and record stories

  • STORYBOOTH - participants will turn up, have a cuppa and share their story

Series one of this project was completed in 2021, collecting stories from Walgett, Brewarrina, Bourke and Cobar.

This year we are seeking local champions from the Bogan, Warren and Coonamble Shires to help deliver this project in their community.

The local champion/coordinator will:

  • Have great connections in their town and a passion to participate in local storytelling

  • Promote workshops locally, encourage participants to attend, connect with venues and provide recommendations.

  • Work closely with Outback Arts and Signal Creative and attend all events in your area,

Pay: 8 hours paid time promoting and planning prior to the events and attendance of both workshop days @$50 per hour.
