Waste 2 Art 2024

It’s time to turn that trash into treasure! NetWaste, Coonamble Shire Council and Outback Arts are collaborating once again to host the annual Waste 2 Art Competition and Exhibition. This regular event attracts a wide range of artists and is open to all residents in the Coonamble Shire. It engages the imagination and showcases our community’s artistic and creative endeavours using items that are traditionally considered waste.

“After having a break from the local comp in 2023, we are excited for artists to come back brighter and bolder this year with their packaging produced works of art.” said Executive Director Jamie-Lea Trindall

Waste 2 Art provides an innovative approach to waste education, we are inviting individuals, schools, and community groups to take up the challenge and create a new life for materials that would otherwise have been thrown away or considered useless. Over the years many materials have been used, items like soft plastics, tin cans, bottle tops, plastic bags, parts from rusty farm machinery, scrap metal, bread tags, the options are limitless. Instead of ending up in landfill, these waste materials can be turned into fantastic works of art.
