About Outback Arts
Outback Arts is the regional arts development organisation servicing the Far West NSW region. The service regions include the shires of Bourke, Cobar, Coonamble, Walgett and Warren. We assist in building arts and cultural capacity in our regional communities, through supporting, facilitation and contributing directly to the arts and cultural life of the region. Outback Arts is one of the 14 Regional Arts Boards working in the Regional Arts NSW network.
The Outback Arts Region is an extremely large geographical area, dotted with small rural & remote towns, and separated by vast distances.
Developed in 1999, Outback Arts is a not-for-profit arts and cultural development organisation working in the 5 local government areas of Bourke, Coonamble, Cobar, Walgett and Warren.
Outback Arts receives core funding from ARTS NSW (formerly known as NSW Ministry for the Arts) on an annual basis (triennially applied for) as well as an annual contribution from the contributing local government areas. This arrangement represents a partnership between the state government and local government in the delivery of arts and cultural outcomes in regional communities.
