The Art4Ag Photography Exhibition is back for its third year! We have teamed up with Coonamble District & Castlereagh Landcare, Department of Primary Industries Rural Resilience Program and Coonamble CWA Evening Branch to celebrate the nation’s agricultural industry and National Ag Day on November 21 2019.
Entries are being invited for the 2019 photography exhibition. For the first time ever there will be $1000 prize money up for grabs, awarded by Coonamble CWA Evening Branch to the most outstanding entry expressing the award theme of ‘ Grit and Grace’. The aim of the prize is to bring into focus the country woman’s role in farming and agriculture. The prize theme is open to interpretation, whether entrants depict a celebration of success, recognition of hardship or an acknowledgment of resilience. Entries are not limited to the major prize theme and will be in the running for the People’s Choice Award, with a prize of $300.
Last year there were outstanding entries by participating photographers from Coonamble, Walgett, Enngonia, Brewarrina, Bourke. This year we’d love to extend the reach further across the Outback Arts region. “The Art4Ag project is a great way for people to appreciate agriculture and the land from their own perspective through photos. It is not just a project for people who work in agriculture it is open to everyone.” Says Vicky Hogland, Local Landcare Coordinator.
The official opening on National Ag Day will be a fully catered, ticketed dinner event with special guest speakers. The event will be hosted in the gallery space at Outback Arts in Coonamble. Stay tuned for more information to come.
