Are you an artist residing in Far Western NSW? Then we have hot news, entries for Outback Archies 2019 are now open. The annual art prize and exhibition grows in anticipation with each year and shines a light on the diverse creative art making happening in our region.
2019 is set to be a slam dunk, with a range of cash prizes up for grabs, exhibition opportunities and a special event to coincide with the exhibition launch. The cash prizes include Outback Archies Prize ($1000), People’s Choice ($300), Aboriginal Art Award ($300). Not to mention prizes for each category for both the winner ($300) and runner up ($100). Entries are open to works in all media including painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking and ceramics.
Communications and Touring Coordinator for Outback Arts, Maddi Ward says “the anticipation local artists have for the Archies is a testament to its long-running success. It showcases the talented creatives we have in our communities and gives emerging artists a platform to boost their profile.”
Outback Arts strive to support artists by providing opportunities to exhibit and showcase their work locally as well as in metro galleries by securing exhibition opportunities.
Thank you to our local sponsors for getting behind our annual art prize including North West Vets and Swanny’s Frozen Foods. We would also like to thank Western Herald, Coonamble Times and Outback Radio 2WEB for their support.
The Outback Archies exhibition is to be held in Coonamble at Outback Arts’ Creative Arts Centre from 30th September to 1st November 2019, with the official opening to be held Saturday 12th October.
