Arts Grants
Regional Arts NSW (RANSW) – GRANTS
Country Arts Support Program (CASP) – CASP for projects occuring in 2012 has closed (as of Friday, 10th February). Successful applicants will be advised of success on 2 April for projects being able to occur between 9th April 2012 and 12 April 2013.
CASP provides small grants to arts and community organisations and local arts councils in regional NSW for short term, locally initiated projects. The aims of the program are:
- to assist locally determined cultural activities;
- to increase opportunities for regionally based groups to access a diverse range of arts programs;
- to enable communities to explore and express their cultural identities;
- to encourage communities to work together to develop and participate in cultural experiences;
- to bring social and economic benefits to the community through training, employment and promotional activities; and
- to leads to greater awareness and appreciation of cultural diversity in rural and regional New South Wales

Prop Ups http://www.regionalartsnsw.com.au/grants/prop-ups.html PROP UPS is a Quick Response Grants Program aimed at supporting innovative performing arts programming in regional communities in NSW and encouraging new performance initiatives and audience development. A limited amount of funding is available throughout the year via the Country Arts Support Program (more about CASP here) to assist community presenters cover the costs of bringing a professional tour into the region or the costs of mounting and/or touring a local professional production. The objectives are to support performance related community cultural development in regional and rural New South Wales through small grants which: – assist locally determined community cultural activities – increase opportunities for regionally-based groups to access a diverse range of arts programs – enable communities to explore and express their cultural identities -bring social and economic benefits to the community through training, employment and promotional opportunities -lead to greater awareness and appreciation of cultural diversity.

Australian Film Commission – Regional Filming Fund
The NSW Regional Filming Fund (RFF) has been established to ensure that regional NSW benefits from the growth of this sector. Festivals Australia Regional Residencies This Australian Government cultural program provides assistance to regional and remote communities by providing funds for an artist/s to undertake a residency to work with communities to express their stories through visual arts/crafts, literature, dance, music, drama or other media. Contemporary Music Touring Program The Contemporary Music Touring Program (CMTP) supports touring opportunities for Australian musicians and is largely focused in regional and remote Australia Funding assistance is available to professional artists who perform original Australian contemporary music to tour within Australia. Philanthropic Grants
Philanthropy Australia – publishes the Australian Directory of Philanthropy online and in hard copy. Green Corps – Young Australians for the Environment – is an Australian Government youth development and environmental training program for young people aged between 17 and 20 years. The Myer Foundation & The Sidney Myer Foundation The Foundation provides funding for programs responding to community needs and for the development of new ideas. NRMA Community Help grants – The community help Grants program supports local organisations that are working to make our communities safer. Perpetual Trustees Australia – Perpetual is trustee or co-trustee of nearly 400 charitable trusts valued at over $1 billion. The Ian Potter Foundation (closed for 2012 grants)
Overview: The Ian Potter Cultural Trust aims to nurture the growth of excellence and diversity in cultural activities in Australia by making small grants to outstandingly talented people in the early stages of their careers. The Ian Potter Cultural Trust has two major funding areas:

Visions of Australia aims to make exhibitions of cultural material accessible to more Australians. It provides grants it provides grants to cultural and community organisations to develop and tour exhibitions of historical and scientific material‚ visual arts and craft‚ multimedia and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture throughout Australia.

Arts NSW Fellowships, Scholarships and Awards- Various closing dates or always open
The NSW Government, through Arts NSW, offers a number of fellowships, scholarships and awards each year to writers, artists and scholars living in New South Wales. Rural Education Program Various closing dates – check entry for dates The Rural Education Program (REP) seeks to ensure that quality education remains accessible to children in rural and remote communities regardless of climatic and economic conditions. Through collaboration with local agencies and sponsored partnerships with individuals and corporations, the REP will be able to extend the educational recourses and individualised learning support that rural students require.. Harold Mitchell Foundation. Various closing dates
You must be a charitable organisation with Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) Status to apply for this grant
Purpose: To sponsor vital projects or activities in the Arts and Health which would not otherwise happen.
Overview: A project or activity only in the arts or health areas, which
• Creates discovery in the arts and or health fields to break new ground and set up opportunities for the future.
• Increases the capacity of communities to foster their arts and health activities and the capacity of talented
individuals with the commitment and potential to improve our world.
• Enables establishment of arts or health activities with real potential to take off and be ongoing
Limitations:
Applications cannot be accepted from any of the following organisations or for any of the following categories:
• For-Profit bodies and commercial/business entities
• Political Parties
• Private Schools
• Sports Clubs
• Organisations outside Australia
• Requests for retrospective funding
• Requests for capital works (although projects for capital fit-out requirements can be considered)
• Fundraising, public appeals or loans
• Contributions to the corpuses of other foundation trusts or not-for-profit organisations.
The Foundation can only accept applications from individuals where they have a confirmed auspice or funding partner.
The auspice must have the appropriate ATO endorsements as described previously (TCC and DGR) and your project
will need to be equivalent or similar to their field of activity or business.
Who can apply:
Organisations seeking consideration of funding must be endorsed as both:
1. a Tax Concession Charity or TCC (formerly ITEC – Income Tax Exempt Charity); and
2. a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) to be eligible for consideration.

National Library of Australia – Community Heritage Grants The Community Heritage Grants (CHG) program provides grants of up to $15,000 to community organisations such as libraries, archives, museums, genealogical and historical societies, multicultural and Indigenous groups. The grants are provided to assist with the preservation of locally owned, but nationally significant collections of materials that are publicly accessible including artifacts, letters, diaries, maps, photographs, and audio visual material. Indigenous Business Australia Scholarship Fund – various closing dates The Indigenous Business Australia (IBA) Scholarship Fund provides financial support to enable recipients to achieve nationally recognised qualifications with a focus on financial, commercial and/or economic management. Indigenous Heritage Program – various opening/closing dates The Indigenous Heritage Program (IHP) is an Australian Government initiative that supports the identification, conservation and promotion (where appropriate) of Indigenous heritage. Grants of up to $100‚000 for eligible organisations and up to $5‚000 for eligilbe individuals. The 2012-13 Indigenous Heritage Program funding round is expected to open in November 2011.

Foundation for Young Australians Funding Programs The Foundation for Young Australians is a dynamic, not-for-profit organisation committed to developing innovative initiatives that support and empower the lives of young Australians aged 18 to 29.
