Fancy a cuppa? Anthony Brink is coming to Coonamble to teach us how to make teapots and other handy goodies.
Bit of background: Since the late 1980s, Anthony has worked independently as a studio-based potter. He has over 35 years professional experience including mould-maker at KC Day, assistant to sculptor Frederic Chapeaux, apprentice to ceramicist Gwyn Hanssen Pigott, and production thrower at Errol Barnes’ Lyrebird Ridge Pottery. Anthony has taught ceramics for over 11 years. He was artist-in-residence at the Queensland Potters Association where he also coordinated community adult education program. Anthony currently runs Fireant Ceramic Art studio in the Blue Mountains.
MASTERCLASS > Thursday 20th & Friday 21st October
Day 1: 10 – 4 | Day 2: 9:30 – 4 | $50 pp
Details: Anthony will work with individuals to master their own wheel-throwing technique. Participants would need to provide samples of previously bisque fired work.
HANDBUILD A TEA-SET > Saturday 22nd & Sunday 23rd October.
Day 1 & 2: 9:30 – 4 | $50 pp
Details: Participants will learn the technique of cut and folded clay slabs to hand build teapots and accompanying tableware. Anthony will also discuss glazes including glaze making and techniques.
BYO lunch and drinks.
Workshops will be held at the Coonamble Ceramics Studio
