Regional
Arts Boards (like Outback Arts) and Arts on Tour are working
together on this project in order to reach a concentrated
spread for each forum. There are only two
forums offered state-wide each year.
Making the most of Bums on
Seats in a big region...
Outback Arts is looking for
feedback on a planned Bums on Seats Audience Development
Forum in our region in 2008. And
we need your help!
Our region is large and our
presenter groups dispersed. Unfortunately this means
that many of you will need to travel to attend so we are
also exploring other options...
New
Technologies:
If COBAR proves too far
for you to attend would you be willing to attend a
video conference session of the forum? Or an online
feed or satellite session? We're planning to utilise
new technologies to deliver this forum to as many people as
possible.
Please provide Outback Arts
with the following info:
1) an expression of interest in
attending
2) any particular challenges
you face in attending
Proposed Topics:
1) Marketing (segment marketing, direct marketing)
2) Sourcing touring product
3) Audience Development (audience sharing/new audiences)
4) Ticketing (pricing, pre-sales, integrated marketing etc)
5) Creative Marketing
Presented by NSW Arts on Tour
in partnership with Outback Arts.
Outback
Arts promoted Bums on Seats as part of its support package
to presenters for 2007’s regional tour of ‘Bangers & Mash’.
Cobar Arts Council requested the forum which is now in
planning for 2008.

With thanks to Cobar
Arts Council for their initial expression of interest in
having Bums on Seats in the region. Also to all the
people who have assisted us in exploring new technologies
infrastructure in their town.
