Living Arts & Culture is the new website developed
to celebrate and promote Indigenous arts and
cultures in the Outback Arts region. Featuring
exhibitions, artist profiles, and a searchable
database of Indigenous Arts and cultural based
services and products in the region the site is set
to be a valuable tool!
The
site is named after the "Our Living Arts & Culture"
Regional Indigenous Cultural Development Strategy
for Outback Arts.

Indigenous
Visual Arts Workshops
A 2
day workshops in visual art technique and painting
as well as the ‘business’ of Indigenous art. Learn
how to promote and market yourself as an artist,
approach a gallery or selling outlet, and document
your work.
Facilitators
Gail Naden
is a practicing Wiradjuri/Gamilaraay
artist/illustrator who currently residing in
Gilgandra. Gail worked as the Regional Indigenous
Cultural Officer at Outback Arts for 4.5 years. In
2005/6 she was short-listed in the 2006 NSW
Parliament Indigenous Art Prize. Gail is a member
of Biamie Dreaming Artist Co-op and has extensive
experience working in the printing industry and arts
sector.
Lewis Burns
is a practicing Indigenous Artist Craftsman,
Didjeridoo Player / Performer, Teacher & Mural
Painter. He has worked internationally in Japan,
Italy and the USA, as well as through western NSW
where his workshops and performances have been
warmly received by communities. Lewis’ work can be
seen in many locations such as Warren, Dubbo,
Narromine, Trangie, Nyngan, Parkes, Sydney and
Gulargambone.
Warren Mason
- I am a Yuwaalaraay man with Yorta Yorta heritage.
I was born in Dirranbandi in South Western
Queensland and raised in Goodooga, North Western New
South Wales. Afters many years living away, I now
live back in Goodooga with my wife and 2 children.

observation of animals, muckin’ ‘round…catchin’
animals, even eat’n em when hungry…though they are
reminiscent of ancient symbols, the animals strongly
reflect the very real existence of tribes unknown!”
