Musica Viva - Monsieur Camembert

An Outback Arts  region-wide tour of multi aria award winning music outfit...

In April 2008 Outback Arts worked with Musica Viva to generate a funding application for a region-wide tour involving dynamic musical group "Monsieur Camembert".  We await news...

YARON HALLIS vocals, rhythm guitar
EDOUARD BRONSON saxes, clarinet, flute, bayan
SANTIAGO lead guitar
MARCELLO MAIO accordion, and piano if available
MARK HARRIS double bass
SHENZO GREGORIO violin, or ANATOLI TORJINSKI cello, or VLADIMIR KHUSID trumpet

Triple ARIA Award winning group Monsieur Camembert fuses the wild rhythms of Eastern Europe with tango, Latin, swing, jazz, tarantella and French musette with a contemporary edge. Monsieur Camembert’s shows have become synonymous with an atmosphere of celebration and spontaneity. This is gutsy, emotive and irresistibly danceable music, played with virtuosity, sensuality and flair.

Some career highlights include performances at the Mosaic Festival in Singapore, the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, and the opening ceremony of the 2000 Paralympic Games. The group regularly performs on the festival circuit in Australia, including WOMADelaide, Bellingen Global Carnival and the Port Fairy Festival.
