Gatineau Jackson Collection

During 2005 Outback Arts was approached by a Private Art Collector, displaying great enthusiasm to donate some original artworks to Outback Arts. Their idea being for the Far West Region to gain access to these predominately Modern Art pieces. Outback Arts is very excited about this project and hopes that in future will be able to display many more of these and other works with the possibilities being endless.

Since at that time Outback Arts did not have Deductible Gift Recipient Status (DGR), the four artistic pieces received in 2005 were donated to the Dubbo Regional Gallery (DRG) with a Memorandum of Understanding so that Outback Arts retains control of the artworks. Outback Arts obtained its D.G.R. status in October 2006.

In mid September 2007, Outback Arts received 5 more magnificent pieces of artwork to add to the collection. Since then Outback Arts has continued to receive many more pieces from their generous donors. In total Outback Arts has 34 pieces, in varying mediums from painting through to sculpture and photography.  And in size, very large to the very small.

The 34 pieces are currently on exhibition in the six shires of Coonamble, Walgett, Brewarrina, Bourke, Cobar and Warren that Outback Arts service.

Outback Arts plan to rotate the artworks every 3 months within the Outback Arts Shires

In the future Outback Arts will continue to receive many more varied and enriching pieces from their generous donors.

Outback Arts acknowledges the generous gesture that these two collectors have offered to them and the positive benefits this gesture will bring to the Outback Arts community,   bringing joy and enrichment to the lives of Outback Arts community members for many years to come.

Once again we extend our many thanks to our generous donors, Yvon Gatineau and Peter Jackson.
