How the project came about...
In response
to feedback by volunteer
presenter groups in the region on the difficulty of taking
risk Outback Arts developed a regional approach to tackling
'risk'. We worked with Critical Stages and presenter
groups to book a regional circuit and generated an
application for Guarantee Against Loss (GAL) with Arts NSW
for all 5 performances.
Bangers & Mash and the GAL was
offered to ALL
Presenter Groups in the Outback Arts region.
Of five
(5) performances three (3) made profits in Bourke, Nevertire
(Warren), and Coonamble.
2
performances required a claim:
COBAR,
Cobar Arts Council, $568.00
WALGETT, Walgett District, $1296.00
(Brewarrina
declined Bangers & Mash but have chosen an alternate show.
Outback Arts offered assistance with Brewarrina’s individual
GAL application and referred them to NSW Arts on Tour -
The Outback Arts region Prop Up Fund was utilised to assist
in lieu of a volunteer presenter group GAL Fund in that year )
5
presenters achieved group cover of $4969 for possible loss
of income at box office. Outback Arts also brokered a $500
reduction in the production cost to each presenter.
