The Outback Arts Team

Margie Pye (Executive Officer) was employed to both manage Outback Arts in the capacity of Executive Officer and to facilitate and promote arts and community cultural development in the region. Margie has been with Outback Arts since March 2006.

She initially began her creative career in fashion design and holds a Diploma of Fashion Design and Production, has worked as a Fashion Consultant and worked at TAFE within the Fashion Department for many years. She has been a regional Coordinator for Western College of Adult Education. Margie has completed Certificate 4 in Office Administration, Certificate 4 in Rural Administration and a Certificate 3 in Assistant in Nursing.  She is also in the final stages of completing a Certificate 4 in Governance. Margie is a successful practising artist and dabbles in mixed media plus recycled metal art and has had   success locally and regionally in the Waste to Art competition since its inception. Now instead of the paintbrush, one of her favourite tools for creating is the mig welder!


Jamie-Lea Hodges

(Regional Arts Development Officer -RADO)

Outback Arts RADO is Jamie-Lea Hodges from Coonamble, starting the role in November 2009. Jamie-Lea was born and bred in Coonamble and has completed a 5 year stint in Sydney where she graduated from the College of Fine Arts, University of NSW with a Bachelor of Art Education and a major in Sculpture/Photography. 

 

 


  Helen Cant (Communications, Administration & Promotions Officer) Helen is employed three days a week, and is responsible for general administration duties and communications. Helen designs and distributes the quarterly ArtBark newsletter and creates informative monthly e-bulletins. Helen also manages regular spots with ABC radio and 2WEB. Helen  and her husband Frank are long term residents of Coonamble. Helen is new to the organisation; commencing early December 2009.
