Chairperson - Cr. Pauline Serdity
(Warren Shire Council) This is Pauline’s
eighth year
on the Outback Arts Board. She has previously
served as the Treasurer and Secretary. She is a
Councillor on the Warren Shire Council, is a member
of the Warren Arts Council and Chairperson/
Secretary of the
Warren Interagency Support Services. She is involve
in many community groups including, Youth Committee,
Linking Women with Safety, MOW., Community
Transport, Nevertire CWA, Nevertire Progress
Association, Council delegate on the North Western
and Central Zone Library Committees and recently
joined the Warren Hospital Auxiliary. Pauline is LC of NSW Dept of Primary
Industries at Warren (part time), is a partner in
her husbands welding business and runs her own small bookkeeping service. Pauline also
holds a Diploma in Business Administration,
Cert IV in Workplace Assessment and Training, and is
currently completing a Certificate IV in Business
Governance. |

Vice
Chairperson -
Mr Steven Baldwin
(Coonamble
Shire Council). Steven is the Tourism
Development Manager for Coonamble Shire Council. He
has a background in tourism/hospitality and an
interest in events and vocational training. Before
moving to the region Steve was formerly a board
member of the National Festivals and Events
Association (FEA) and Tourism Training ACT & Region
(TTACT&R) for over five years and is the current
Chair of the Great Inland Way Promotions Group
(Southern Chapter). He is a committee member and
volunteer at the two eight two eight community
tourism project in Gulargambone and the publicity
officer for the Coonamble Rodeo and Campdraft. |

Secretary
- Christina Johansson
(Lightning Ridge Arts and Craft
Council) This is Christina’s second year on the Outback Arts Board.
Christina is currently president of the Lightning
Ridge Arts and Craft Council, also president of the
Lightning Ridge and Region Transcultrual Community
Council. Christina is a keen supporter and worker
assisting and/or organising community events and
activities.

Ms Pip
Brown
(St
Brigids Primary School)
Pip
was Chair of the steering committee to form OA and
has been on the Board since its inception in
1999. She was Chair until 2002 and has since
served as Treasurer. Pip was the Outback Arts
representative on the RANSW Board between
1999-2006. She was a councillor and Deputy Mayor
on Bourke Shire Council and is currently involved
working with drought affected communities for the
NSW Government. She is a member of Gowest
Regional Development Board and holds an Advanced
Diploma in Business Administration.

Cr. Clare Kesby
(Brewarrina
Shire Council) This is Clare’s third year on
the Outback Arts Board. She is an active community
member .

Peter Rogers
(Cobar
Shire Council) A Traditional
Artist of the starving variety- Pete prefers pencil,
charcoal and pastel - specialising in portraiture of
people and animals. Passionate about the ancient art
of Flintknapping and primitive archery and making
and using associated equipment. Pete also has a
dabble with Poetry and Short Story writing. Involved
with the local Archery Club, Arts Council and
Enterprise Facilitation Group. |

Sue Smith(Bourke
Shire Council).
Sue
is now in her fourth year on the Outback Arts Board.
Sue is a long term resident of Bourke and has been
the Managing Director of Outback Radio 2WEB for the
last ten years. Sue is a Bourke Shire Councillor and
the Council delegate on the Outback Arts Board. Sue
was formerly Outback Arts Board representative on
the RANSW board for 2006. |

Christine Dugan(Walgett
Shire Council).
Christine lives at Lolleep 50km out of Walgett on
the Brewarrina Road and works in the Walgett Shire
Council Library. Christine coordinates the Walgett
Waste to Art Competition/ Exhibition each year and
also offers Waste to Arts workshops to the schools
within the shire. Christine is very passionate about
the Waste to Art concept and involving children.
Christine has many hobbies including quilting,
embroidery, pottery and photography and looks
forward to becoming involved in cultural events in
the community that Outback Arts can support. |

Andrew
Hull
(Bourke
Arts Council)
Andrew Hull is
perhaps best described as an all round artist -
he is a writer, painter, photographer, and musician,
with more talents than you can poke a stick at.
Andrew has toured the region many times with Tonchi
McIntosh and most recently in a collaboration with
Mick Daley of the Re-Mains and Tonchi called "The
Lonely Horses Band". Their 2006 "The Lonely
Horses Tour" thrilled 'one-horse town' audiences in
Gulargambone, Nymagee, Bourke, Fords Bridge, and
Quambone. As a practicing artist and active
arts community member in Bourke Andrew brings a
fresh and lively energy to the board - which he
joined as a representative for Bourke Arts Council
in 2007. |

Katie
Sinclair
(Warren
Arts Council).Katie
has been a member of the Warren Arts Council for the
past 7 years and has taken on the role of President
for the last 5 years. Originally from the UK, Katie
studied music at York University then completed her
teaching degree shortly after settling in Australia
in 2001. Since then she has been teaching both
classroom and instrumental music and currently works
part time running the music program at Trangie
Central School. Katie is also the Musical Director
of The Hot Flats choir, a non-audition community
singing group based in Warren. She also has an
18month old daughter, a husband, 11 chooks and 2
dogs! |

Amanda
Colwell (
Country Women's Association).
Amanda has long been interested in all arts and
crafts, stemming from talented teachers in her
school days. An interest in creating textile art has
grown from sewing traditional patchwork and
embroidery to rather more eccentric pieces featuring
recycles fibres. She is passionate about breaking
through the “sandstone curtain” when it comes to
bringing high quality cultural experiences to the
western parts of the State, and advocating for
artists working in relative isolation. She has
worked as a project officer and facilitator with
“Behind Closed Doors” domestic violence community
education and awareness programme. Amanda lives
50km north of Coonamble with her husband Ken and
they have 3 adult children. |

Karen Ricardo
(Walgett District Tourism
Association) Karen is interested in Outback Arts as
she believes that enriching the lives of those
living in Outback N.S.W. with music, drama, art,
stories, films etc can only be of great benefit to
all. She is not a practising artist in any field but
greatly appreciates and thoroughly enjoys the
talents of those who do. A teacher for many years
and involved in a number or organisations and events
in Walgett. She would like to see the Arts become
more accessible for adults and children of the Bush.
Karen and her husband have 4 children and she now
teaches only on casual basis. |
